The first 100 Days

The first one hundred days of Barack Obama's presidency are officially through, and we are in the midst of one of the toughest times in American history-we are facing a potential pandemic, a crippled economy, a war on terror, and increasingly strained relationships with hostile nations. I don't think I'd want to be Obama but the man seems to be handling it well. Time just came out with some really great behind the scenes photographs of Obama at work.
Apparently, Obama has a real habit of squeezing a basketball or a football when he is trying to focus on something.
One thing that Obama said in an interview back in December, was that he began reading up on John F. Kennedy, FDR, and Abraham Lincoln. He mentioned how those presidents before him felt that the job itself was an extremely lonely one, and took a heavy emotional and physical toll, especially on Lincoln. In this snapshot, Obama seems fascinated by this portrait of JFK, taken in the early days of his administration. President Obama definitely carries around with him a profound sense of American history and its overall importance.

I think that there is a stark contrast between these two pictures. The first shows Obama in a moment of relaxation or gentle release, somewhat content without a look of stress on his face; in contrast, the second shows the President stressed, frustrated, panicked, or perhaps just a bit worn out after a long day.

I really think that President Obama has more on his plate than he can handle; because of this, he should focus on only three things for now-getting control of this potential pandemic, pulling the world economy out of this recession and keeping the American people safe-no pressure, Barack.
