Deja Entendu

For 6 years now, Brand New has been my favorite band for a number of reasons. The biggest one being that I feel that I've grown with them.I went from liking their immature, yet catchy pop punk sound, to now preferring their much more intricate array of progressive sounding rock that they have displayed on their last two albums. they certainly have evolved to a much more mature level. It's exciting to follow a band that cares nothing about making it mainstream, making music videos for MTV, or dealing with greedy record labels. I've seen them twice in concert, and as you can see in these pictures, they leave it all on the stage.

Well I wrote this post to show you the amazing lighting choreography of their concerts. The lighting moves from spotlight, to chaos, to creating a calm scene before the storm. A signature aspect of their shows are the three lights in the back, that blink on and off during intense moments, like the climax of their song Degausser. The light show really makes the experience of a Brand New Concert. My favorite lighting is the single blue spotlight during what I am assuming is a solo. I wish I knew more about stage lighting but I have a huge appreciation for the way this lighting is choreographed into the show.

Favorite album: Deja Entendu (4.5/5 stars)
Favorite Songs:
Quiet Things, Degausser, Logan to Government Center, Jesus, Jaws Theme Swimming, Guernica, Fork and Knife
